returning to main menu after playing a scene

Using Windows dvd Maker, I can burn several separate scenes on to a dvd. When burning the dvd, I select the "start with dvd menu" option, and the menu is displayed when I insert the dvd into the player.
However, if I select, say scene 2, to play, it continues into scene 3 on completion, rather than returning to the main menu, which is what I would have expected.

Any ideas out there ?

javaviver, welcome to the forums. The start with menu dvd menu option is how it loads the dvd. To have a dvd play one scene then go back to the menu would probably be a setting on your dvd player.

You have but three options on how your clips will run and unfortunately what you want is not one of them. This is a limitation of the software, to do what you want to do is certainly available on many "Paid For" programs like Corel Video Studio but there might be a freebie program out there that will do it, Google "Free Video Editors" and see what comes up!

thanx guys, that's what I thought. I used to use Pinnacle Studio (paid for), which had more functionality, but that ran under XP, and now I've got Windows7, so it doesnt work, and I was hoping I could get the same functionality from Windows dvd maker, or another freebie editor. Looks like I'll be doing a bit of Googling !

It does - Pinnacle version 11 works with Win 7!

I ran version 9 (v old, but suited my needs !). I don't think I can get an upgrade (at reasonable cost), but would have to purchase the latest version as a replacement - hence, hoping I could get all I need from a freebie editor. .... but thanx for the reply.

If you do decide to go for a purchase have a look at the trial version of Corel's Video Studio V.6!
