Reverse upgrade

Hi all,

I upgraded my Vista Laptop to Windows 7, I also have a WindowsXP machine.
My question is, can I reformat my Laptop and reinstall Vista and then upgrade my XP machine to Windows 7?

yes you can with windows 7 just have to ring Microsoft after you install it again on other laptop and tell them its another laptop and you have removed the other 7 of the other laptop/pc

Hello Dan,

In addition, you will not be able to do a in-place upgrade from XP to Windows 7. Instead it will have to be a clean install of Windows 7 on your XP computer.

Maybe. what version of win 7 (OEM, retail, etc). I suspect you can and you can verify it on the microsoft site by looking at the upgrade path. I suggest you use the upgrade adviser to check you XP hardware specs
