Solved Rift Super Low Framerate...

I have a GTX 285 core i7 920 and can run the game at 50+fps no problems.
My buddy just bought a GTX 560 and is running on a q6600 and can even get past 20 fps on LOW?

What could be wrong?

Is this happening only in RIFT? Or in any game?
If you say he just bought the card, it might be a driver problem. Use Driver Sweeper (free app from Guru3D) and then install the latest drivers available for his video card. Also see that all the other drivers are updated.

On the hardware side, does the PSU support the whole gaming rig? The video card might not get enough power.

Ya, he has a 800W power supply. Ended up telling him to run the RIFT recoverty tool which ended up finding about 1GB of missing files. Thing is he says his files always go missing... We just replaced his HD to...

You pretty much solved the problem. HDD was screwed, got a new one now, things should go fine from now on. You can mark this thread solved.
