Right-click menu bar

Hi. When I right click on an icon on my desktop for instance, it doesn't look like the Windows 7 version. See pictures. The first one is what it looks like for me, and the second is one is one I found on this site of what it should look like. I'm not talking about the content in the menu, but the aesthetics. For me, it only looks like the first picture when I right click on an icon on my desktop. But if I just right click on my desktop, it shows it correctly. It's not a big deal, really. I'm just wondering if there's a quick way to fix this. Thanks in advance!

Also, if this isn't the right folder, if someone could please move it for me or just tell me where to post this. I wasn't sure so I just posted in General Discussion. Thanks again.

Also, since it seems like you know a little about AVG, I thought I could ask you another question: How can I prevent it from obstructing some of my torrent downloads? Sometimes I get the "the requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open" error on utorrent and I know it's because of the resident shield being on. It only happens on like one out of 100 torrents.

Uinstall AVG, use the removal too, and install Microsoft Security Essentials.

But I like AVG! It's one of the best overall anti-virus programs, IMHO. There's no way around that?

Doesn't look like it. Suites are mostly unnecessary now - use MSE. It will never expire and is completely free, it just requires validation.

Its Mircrosoft - you get the basics and nothing else but do you really use the extra features such as identify etc?

I have yet to find an independent rating of MSE's performance, so I can't answer that, but if AVG is causing problems, I would definitely look for an alternative, paid or not.

It's built by the same company as the OS, so it should be optimized to a level no third-party application can reach.
That, and I'm betting it will be bundled into Windows 8 (except in Europe)

I mean, I don't "use" them, per se, but I feel more comfortable having many security aspects. And the problem seems to only be the right click menu when clicking on icons (no big deal, really) and sometimes interfering with some torrent downloads, which I can just keep restarting the torrent and it'll continue til I gotta do it again (sometimes every few minutes, sometimes once or twice til the torrent finishes downloading, and most of the time, not at all). I read some people criticizing MSE's lightness and saying it might not be as strong as paid for suites like AVG 9.

If you download junk from torrents you need all the protection you get, although MSE is a solid choice. G-Data has very high rates of detection with 2 anti-malware engines, although it is apparently heavier on resources.

You should manually scan torrent files after downloading anyway.

Yeah, that's true. I've grown trusting of them since I mostly use Demonoid. By the way, I know talking about torrents and stuff is probably against the site rules, so I won't say anything I'd think is ban-able, like: suggesting/linking/advocating/etc.

Do whatever you want - just make sure you are aware of the consequences. You should also read the comments. I'm not surprised at the level of piracy - do you have any idea how difficult it is to get Manhunt 2 uncut AO on PC? Even directdrive has limited the download to Canada, Mexico, and the US.

Yeah, I always read the comments. I'll just say it was for Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise - and it was legit. If a mod sees this and thinks that's saying too much, please edit that out of my post instead of deleting/banning me. Thanks.

Maybe you could try to remove AVG from Context Menu and see whether that works
Use ShellExView sort by Company name and disable AVG alone then see whether your getting Normal Context menu

I want it in the context menu though! I like it since I can just right click on something and scan it with AVG directly if I want to.

Not many things. Basic things like AIM, utorrent, AVG, and maybe some other random stuff I'm forgetting like Java update or something.
