Solved Right side start menu icons

Used to be, when I hovered over items on the right side of the start menu there was an changing icon at the top of the menu. Somehow in my fiddling I have disabled that and no icons now appear at the top right of the start menu. I'd like to get that feature back and, of more importance, learn what controls the feature. Anybody know?

Found answer to problem

After right-click on Start orb | Properties | Start menu | Customise | Use default settings | OK | OK, my hover icons came back. After some experimentation with the customise feature it appears that when you elect more than 14 items (depending upon the thickness of your task bar) in the right hand start menu, the hover icon is disabled to make room. So the only modification I had to make from my usual setup was to disable the Recent items to reduce the right hand list. A simple solution but perhaps not obvious.
