Ripping Audio from DVD

Is it possible to rip audio directly from a DVD? I received a CD/DVD set of music for Christmas. The DVD has several songs that are missing from the CD and I would like to be able to listen to them other than on my TV.

Well, bless your heart (and all your other internal organs)! That looks like it may do the trick. I've printed it out and, after I've recovered from the holidays and dealt with a few other things, I'll give it a try. I already have VLC on my machine.

Freemake Video Convert also works quite well, it can convert DVD to audio format. But if your DVD is commercial with protection, you are out of luck with this software. But you can try other ripper like DVDFab or Leawo DVD Ripper. They all can rip DVD to lossless or lossy format. Protection and region code can be decrypted with them. You should keep the DVD audio for your own use, don't share them.

I got a chance to fool around with it last night and, after a few failed attempts, I was able to get a copy of the entire DVD's audio ripped to a single track. Supposedly, one can rip individual chapters to their own tracks but darned if I could get it to work that way. I might try some of the other ones Jumanji suggested later to see if I can get individual tracks since most are duplicates of the ones on the CD that came with the DVD but, for now, I have a usable copy (now that Christmas is over, of course).

You're preaching to the choir. I have issues with DRM but I feel even more strongly against piracy.
