Rocketfish Micro-USB Bluetooth Adapter Not working.

As the title would suggest, I have a Rocketfish Micro-usb bluetooth adapter. I'm having real issues with my Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

My Problems are:

- The Bluetooth device installs correctly but cannot find any devices
- Searching will go on forever and I have tried over 12 different bluetooth devices
- When opening up "Show Bluetooth Devices" windows, it never loads
- It works fine on the Windows Developer Preview (minor bugs)

Things I have already tried:

- Updating the drivers
- Updating Windows 7
- Running the drivers in compatibility mode for all other versions
- Searched Google

I'm out of ideas and am in serious need of help. I'm trying to mainly use the adapter with the Turtlebeach Delta Force Headset, but it will not read any other devices as well as the headset.

Welcome to Seven Forums MMFQ DEATH. Found this tidbit on the Rocketfish forum:

Right Click the BT icon in the tray, and select "Open Settings." After that, check mark the box that says "Discovery- Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer." Then click apply and try to connect your headset again.

Thanks for the help and I wish I could do that but, whenever I click on "Open Settings" nothing happens. I have no idea... =/

EXACTLY the same problem here on a win-7-32 pro desktop. It did however work marginally on an HP netbook running win-7-32 starter using the windows drivers.
Pairing efforts with the desktop failed miserably, no setup screen and an hour on the printers and devices screen.

check services for bluetooth

windows se7en has two bluetooth services...<ctrl><alt><del> to task manager - click the services tab - on the lower right there is a button for services. Click it and scroll thru the listbox until you see anything bluetooth. When found set them to automatic and start the services :devil::devil::devil:

Ok, I've installed, tried and suceeded with the Rocketfish bluetooth adaptor on a Windows Starter edition notebook (HP) and a laptop with Windows Home Premium (also HP laptop) and both work flawlessly. I cannot for the life of me get it to work on a Windows Pro machine (not HP) which is my custom built HTPC. The one machine I really want this to work with can't connect. The devices can "see" each other but pairing fails.

windows 7 bluetooth services

In order to pair with devices, the software must be configured to allow devices to pair with your computer. In order to enable your software to allow pairing, you must first start the bluetooth services on the windows 7 machine you are setting up. You can reach services from a few places but the easiest for me is thru the task manager/services tab. Once services are started for bluetooth, you can then goto the bluetooth icon and right click - click on "settings", and the settings will display where they wouldn't before. I had the same problem with clicking the "settings" selection with no response. It would be nice if the software developers were smart enough to include a sub that checks for bluetooth services before loading their driver - coupled to an alert dialog that says "please start bluetooth services" when services for bluetooth are not running. It's like allowing something to allow something else to allow something else and so on. None of which really matters when the end user simply wants to copy files to their phone and go. Software developers are dicks. Ur not...just sayin - Go Maple Leafs!
