Solved Rotinom Virus?

Rotinom Virus!! ?? Hi All

I have the rotinom virus, and it is currently only on my external harddrive. ESET Nod 32 prevented it from spreading onto the PC when I opened the harddrive. One problem though, the virus is still on my external harddrive, and ESET 'removed' some part of it but it is still on my harddrive, and it hides all my folders. Now I now how the infected folders look like, and I directed ESET to scan them, but it detects nothing. I tried this in command prompt:
attrib -s -h *.* /S /D
but it did not worked(did not restore files, cmd says the virus file blocks/prevents it)

How do I remove it?

Hi and welcome to 7forums!

Does the drive contain any important data?

First off, make sure that the hdd is not connected
2) install Malware Bytes (click on download) then exit from ESET, now update malware bytes then run a full system scan with it
3) if it hasn't found any viruses you can connect the hdd if you dare
3) run the scan again with malware bytes, now you can kill the virus easily

You can either disable real time protection in eset, or you can add an exception in eset for malwarebytes (which i recommend)

No, because then you will have no real-time protection
