Is the RTM the same as the 22nd release? I have a new HD5850 coming here thursday, and will be running the disk on my SSD (Vertex FW 1.4(TRIM) and 1.41 (GC) is released now, BTW)
Should i wait to run a fresh install when my 5850 gets here, or should just do this?
I reead people are recieving "party packs" and such. I dunno if its RTM=retail tho.

7 x64 pro from MSDN AA.

It will be the Same version as RTM, or on MSDN/Technet. They found a few Bugs and the Updates will roll up after October the 22'nd. So for you it doesn't matter if you install W7 now or after the Official Release

If you want to have the latest version
try to download the following updates:

This update pack updates the build 7600.16385 to build 7600.20510.

And what are you going to do when MS begins validating Windows 7 and they see your build number is different than the official build number?? Do you think it will continue to function, or will you get that nag screen about your copy not being genuine??? I would seriously consider a reinstall, but hey, you buys yer tickets and ya takes yer chances....

I inserted the activation key from the party pack WIndows Ultimate Signature Edition into the RTM and it activated no problem.

For some reason, after a clean install of the Win7 Ultimate Sig. Edition, Quickbooks invoices email function would not work. We had this configured perfectly with the RC and RTM, after Windows Updates gave us Ayumi Document converter which apparently does the emailing. But the update never came after the clean install (slow servers?), and since we couldn't get it to work otherwise (even with download from Quickbooks) we re-imaged the RTM installation back onto the HDD, deleted the XP first partition, moved the RTM back over onto XP's space, recovered the boot with startup repair and licensed it by inserting the Ult. SIg. Edition key. After system file checker, chkdsk, HDD surface scan gave it a clean bill of health, it is running fast as ever with image backed up so no further reinstalls will be necessary.

Just a heads up that a clean install from retail disk may not be any better than simply licensing your RTM.

Moadip

The only updates released by microsoft were from two days ago. There were 4 critical and several optional. Anything else were "unofficial" and obtained from un-verifiable sources.

If Ms does publish them after the release at least you can verify the source.

thats how
