Run a WoW DVD as Windows XP?

Alright, so I've got this 14-day WoW trial CD that came with the Starcraft battle chest and it WILL NOT run in Windows 7. There is no .exe file that can be executed (for some reason) and it can't run in Windows 7. I have a Windows XP PC that I tried the DVD on and it ran fine, but why not in Windows 7? Even when I right click the DVD-Drive, there is no autoplay option, nothing.

Is it possible to run the CD in Windows XP compatibility mode or is there anyway I can get this to work?

Thanks.

Those discs are a dime a dozen, you can even download it if you want, rather than using the disc. Find another or download it.

That's the problem, I don't want to download and waste the extra bandwidth because we all know that the updates alone will waste a ton. So, there is no other way?

I wouldn't say that there is no other way, try installing it in compatibility mode like you suggested earlier. Then if that doesn't work, I don't know what else you could do. Maybe someone else has an idea.

Downloading it would be the BETTER option, because there should be LESS updates to install (it being the newer version than the CD).

Otherwise, you may have to enable hidden files and folders to see the executable on that CD.

There is no way to run a CD in XP mode the way you want.
