"Run as Administrator" - is there a difference ?

I'm setup up as an user/administrator on my PC or at least administrative privileges. I'm the only one using this PC. Question is...if I run things as me the user with administrative privilges...what's the difference in that or if I right click the program an click "run as administrator" ?

Will the program(s) work differently under each option ? I have at least one program ( Dreamweaver CS4 ) that will not allow me to sue the ftp part of the program unless I right click the shortcut and click run as administrator ?

Is there a way to modify this (and/or others) so I can eliminate the right click/run as administrator ?

An account with Admin privileges in Vista and W7 is similar to the old NT "Operators" group.. in that you can register and unregister ActiveX, install and uninstall software etc.. but you can't delete system files easily.
