I have an MRI cd. When it is inserted it autoruns fine and I can see the images. I need to send it to a few other people so copied the content of the cd to another folder so I can put it on USBs, upload it on google drive, all that stuff to send it to people. However, ant attempts to run AUTORUN.INF (rclick then open or install or cmd /K AUTORUN.INF) other that re-inserting the disk just open the text file.

Is it possible to run this without the CD?

Probably not because i suspect the CD also contains a viewer to see the MRIs.

You have two options if you want to share this:
1. turn the CD into an ISO and send the ISO. The recipient then can either burn the ISO to a CD or "write" the ISO to a USB stick. I'm not sure if writing to a USB stick will work. The only non-operating ISO I wrote to a stick was a Kaspersky Rescue disk and the software I used had that as an option.
2. Copy the CD and mail the CD to your intended recipients.

If I understand your question correctly, you want to share the contents of the CD without using the CD itself. If so, you might be able to do so by making an ISO if the CD, then having the people you are sharing the contents with run the ISO with a virtual Optical Disk Drive (ODD). That way, if there is a viewer on the CD, your users will have access to it.

I use CDBurnerXP to create ISOs from CDs and DVDs. and Virtual CloneDrive to mount (view and/or run) the ISOs. Both are free programs.

And for those of you that use Windows 8 upwards (sorry I'm not too sure which specific update this feature was implemented in for Windows 8), you can literally double click a .iso file and Windows has an integrated ISO mounting software which will allow you to run the file as if it was in a DVD drive :geek:
