Occasionally I use the Run command box.

It's puzzled me why this box has a dropdown arrow , but the dropdown itself is always blank ( well it is for me).

I mostly only use it for a couple of procedures every few days and would expect that it would retain the previous time I did this , so I could just hit the dropdown and click on it instead of always having to type it in.

Naturally I realise there are other ways to do what I want rather than use the Run command , but it's just the way I prefer.

Am I missing some registry key setting or some other setting that will retain previously used of the Run command in the dropdown that I can just select?

As long as I don't delete browsing history (temporary files, cookies, etc) when I shut down my computer the last Run command will be there when I turn the computer back on.

To keep the Run command window entries: tick the "Privacy option: Store and display recently opened programs in the Start menu" in Task Bar and Start Menu Properties > Start Menu tab.

Also, Autocomplete (or Autosuggest registry string) must be enabled.

You don't have something like CCleaner doing a scheduled clean at any time do you? If so, you would need to make sure you uncheck the box for ""Run" in start menu".
