Is there any way I can bypass MS restrictions to use Virtual XP?

You may not be able to install XP Mode but you can install Virtual PC which is the MS Virtual Environment without the licensed copy of XP.

I have Windows 95 running in a VMWare Player VM on my Win 7 Ult 64-bit machine so virtualization will definitely work.

However, to set up a VM, the OP will need a copy of Windows 95 to install inn the VM.

do you know of any good tutorials?

You can use Google as well as I can to find tutorials on how to set up Win 95 in VMWare.

Anyway you should be able to find a copy of XP or 95 without asking for "illegal" assistance; Especially 95...

Good news is that I managed to run MindGym in VMWare player. Bad news is that after I followed that tutorial (the one I linked), the sound quality is terrible.

Also, the game runs at a low res and takes up only a fraction of the screen. Is there any way I can zoom in?

You obviously don't agree with the rules you agreed to when you signed up here. Now if you feel the admin staff is in error, perhaps you should discuss it with them. For the rest of us that choose be to here, we follow the rules. And for the record I personally agree with that one.

Anyway good luck in convincing them to grant you an exception :sarc:

Did you install the VMWare Tools? That should help with the sound and video resolution although a VM cannot take full advantage of your machine's sound or video capabilities.

Yes I did. The game runs at low res by default, but I would like to zoom in if possible. Maybe not using VM Player itself, but some other desktop application.

This is not a hackers forum. All members here follow the law. Any member that doesn't hurts the credibility of the forum.

You have to realize that many members do or did earn their livelyhood from said copyright owners. And you have to realize that by continuing your "line of reasoning" that the chances are increasing that the admins will decide that you are not a trustworthy member. That's their decision, not mine.

The VM doesn't use your sound or video card per se, it emulates the hardware. I believe the soundcard it emulates is a Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI. See this link: Installing Sound Drivers in Windows 9x and Windows NT Guest Operating Systems
