Hi

I showed some work colleagues that it is possible to set up a Windows 7 taskbar to look like the Windows XP taskbar. IE. No pinned apps, and one application for each instance of an open application.

That was my downfall. I guess that good deeds aren't always rewarded. :(
Anyway... I now have a problem that since I changed my profile to the Windows Classic profile, things went wrong for me.

I no longer see my running applications on my taskbar, and I can only switch between apps by using Alt+Tab.

Screen Snapshot shows Firefox open, but not showing on the taskbar. Typically I will have something like 10 or 15 applications open at a time, and it's a real pain in the but to have to Alt+Tab to switch between them.

I have tried so many different things to fix the problem, that I can't remember them all, but here are some:

  1. Locking the taskbar
  2. Changing the properties of the taskbar
  3. I have no viruses or malware of any kind
I have read that it could be a corrupt profile, but I cannot create a new profile because I am logged onto a domain, and cannot use a different user name on the domain.

Is there anything else that anyone can suggest that I try to fix the problem?

Ok... Ran sfc /scannow. It got to 100% and closed. No messages. Is this correct?

I re-started, and no difference.

Any other ideas?
