Does it run hotter playing BF3 than it did before playing other games? That would make sense, with it being one of the most graphically demanding games.

Or do you mean that after playing BF3, your temperatures are always hotter than they used to be, regardless of what you are doing on the computer? That would be a concern.

Regarding the actual temps you are seeing, those are way lower than anything to be concerned about. It can absolutely safely be run at 80 C, and even hotter, according to amd. You do not need to run the fan that high because you do not need to have the temperatures that low :)

kk, ty for the help, im very used to my temperature never exceeding 65 max, even then i sometimes get woried, not because it can or cant handle it, but because of residual efects it may have on the card. it only happens during bf3, but it didnt ALLWAYS happen during bf3, it just started yesterday, but i preordered the game. my problem is not as much whether or not that my card can or cannot handle it, its the sudden change in consistancy that im worried about. and mabey its nothing to be worried about, but i like to make sure

Thornton, my new PC ws running hot when I got it three weeks ago. For $10 I had another fan installed and now it runs at a normal temperature. Even if that isn't your problem, it's a cheap way to make your rig last longer.

sounds good, but my need for fans i guarantee you is not misunderstood, i currently have a 200mm fan, 2 160mm fans and 1 140mm fan and am prepared for puting in another 200mm fan, that is all the more reason why i am concerned. all of them at 1600rpm and its only effecting my temp by 1 degree

mm I've never been able to get my card to go much lower than 65c. it's sitting there right now and i"m not doing anything. I even bought a fan and it's pointing right on it and it never helped lower it's temp at all. even with the case open it stays at that temp.
my card isn't anything special either. a nvidia 8600gts
