Hello,

I will soon be buying a few new computers for the small business I work for. We are looking to get top-of-the-line computers that will last us another 10 years or so, so I'd like to go with Windows 7 64-bit Professional.

We were at first a bit concerned, though, that the main program we use, DataEase for DOS (yes, I know it's antiquated, lol) wouldn't work, but we've been told it should work fine through a Virtual PC emulated environment running WinXP.

What concerns us now, though, is whether or not we will be able to continue using our old Fujitsu DL4600 dot-matrix printers. We need these printers for printing on three-part paper to get signatures and such.

I'm quite sure there is no 64-bit driver available for these printers, but since we are going to be running XP through Virtual PC - will we be able to print to these printers through that emulated environment?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Just for an update, I got the printer working. I was able to install it as a Generic Text printer in 7, and it shares with XP Mode. However, the DataEase for DOS program can only print to LPT1, so I set up print pooling to assign the printer to LPT1 as well.
