Running Visual C++

Some time ago (over six months) I downloaded and installed MS Visual C++. Now I am trying to open the software to use it.

With Control Panel, I can see that it is there under installed programs (x32 and x64) but I can find no reference in the start menu or by searching for related files.

I must be blind, I guess, but how does one open this program?

Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the pointer! I have now searched to find an IDE for MS VS2010 and have not had much success! When I thought that I had found what I needed, trying to download sent me off to another MS site which had much VS2010 stuff but no apparant IDE for download.

I have seen references to using Netbeans as an IDE for C++; would that be sensible (or even possible)? Or could you give me a pointer to a download site when I can find an appropriate IDE?

Thanks for your help.

Go to the link I provided you with, and then scroll to the bottom of the page, and install Visual C++ 2010 Express Edition.

It's what I used with C++.

Thanks x BlueRobot; all done, now to use. As you may gather, I am something of a newbie here having (years ago) moved on to FORTRAN as being 'the thing'. Now (in retirement) maybe its time to grow up!

Many thanks for your help
