Rural location, slow broadband options

Hi all

So I live in a great location, no noise, great views... and a broadband speed of 0.23mb I have very poor mobile signal, due to living within a dip on a hill, so dongles aren't an option.

The only option appears to be sat broadband but latency is a problem when playing first shooter games.

My plan therefore is to keep my 6 miles of aluminium cable BT broadband for games and to install sat broadband for everything else. My question is: how do I combine the two solutions? My only thought so far is to have two setups and to switch the Ethernet cables into my gaming PC depending upon what I'm doing.

Has anyone got a better idea- apart from moving house!

Okay, so I've decided to go for the Draytek Vigor 2830 dual ISP router, I'll let you know how things go...

I live in a rural area too, with very slow broadband. I have only one other option, like you. That is to go satallite. I could get much better speeds with sat, but, as you said, latency is a problem, but more than that, most sat companies are metered. I can deal with the slow connection easier than being metered. Paying for both is not an option for me.

I have got a 20gb limit per month, with unlimited between 23:00 and 07:00. 6Mb download and 2mb upload speed
