I have win7 (64bit) and IE 9 brower installed. I'm looking to acquire iPhone 4G
S. Apple wants to install Safari as browser. Does this replace my IE, or can I have both co-exist? Must I do this to have full range of services on iPhone? What are the gotchas with this?

pdb,

The gotcha is the fact apple wants to install all their products on everything, and that safari has to be the worst (major) web browser out there (for pc). It is not super speedy and is usually more susceptible to virus attacks than some of the other (major) browsers.

However, yes you can have them co-exist. And no you do not have to install it and it provides no extra functionality to your phone.

Hello Jack, and welcome

Hello Are you using the standard qwerty keyboard? Getting the @ symbol should be universal. Just hit Shift+2, and you'll get it on any browser, document, etc.

Also, you may be able to get better help by creating your own thread. If your problem is different than the original post, it is best practice to create your own. :)

Welcome to Seven Forums Jacksouli. Be aware. Safari is no longer supported for windows. The last version is from May 9, 2012. Safari 6.0 alone patched 121 vulnerabilities that were present in Safari 5.1.7! The 5.1.7 update also included automatic disabling of old versions of Adobe's Flash Player that they consider as not having the most up-do-date security features. Just be aware, you are using a very insecure browser, and have a problem with a continuously insecure addon that is always tops on known attack vectors. A Guy
