greetings,
when i installed win7, i set it up so user profiles would be on a different disk to the normal c: drive. [fyi there many posts on how to do that on this site.] things have worked great, no problems.
i recently began to have issues w/my user drive and wanted to take a look at it on a different system. 'no problem', says i, 'once it's out, if i still need to do anything on the machine, i'll just log in as administrator'. har-har... because i'd forgotten that, when i set it up, i set it up so that all users -- including admin -- are on the 2nd disk... this resulted on all sorts of short-term amusement while i tried to get things fixed up again...
so what i'd like to do is put Administrator back in its default location on the boot drive, leaving all other users where they are. here's how i'm thinking of doing it :
thanks.

- create an adequate folder on the root drive [e.g., C:\Users\Administrator] and copy existing documents there
- change the registry entries in HKU\{s1-key}\Volatile Environment to refer to the new location
- change hardcoded paths in registry entries for other programs similarly
thanks.
