Hey guys,

i have just decided to turn my old computer into my media center so i decided to do a bit of upgrading, like up the ram, format and install Win7. all was fine with that.

then i decided to get the HDMI crankin as well and have had nothing put problems. i tried a pci-e ATI HD 2400pro 1st, and now i have a pci-e Saffire Radeon HD 4350, and they both have the same problem.

when i use process explorer and no card installed (on board card) 0% hardware interrupts. 20% cpu usage

install either HDMI card and 80 -90% hardware interrupts, 100% cpu usage all the time.

each time i try a new card i uninstall all vid drivers, turn off the cpu, install card, load new drivers (tried vista and 7 drivers) still no luck. boot time is 10secs with the on board card, 3 mins with either PCI-E card.
the computer is

AMD sempron 3200+ 1.8GHz
1.5G ram

any ideas? thanks ppl.

ok, dont worry i found the solution. and is it a pain in the a$$ to find!!

turns out the 'High Definition Audio Controller' in 'system devices' in 'device manager' needs to be disabled because it conflict with the HDMI audio on the card. or somthing :)

5 days with the core running at 100%, disable the high def audio cont and in seconds core is running at 15%.

hope it helps someone

*edit*
it also seems pci-e on older boards will only assign i IRQ per device unless some sort of mod is done., so no picture+audio via HDMI on older PC's. meh
