Same programs on Xp and Win7 machines, no Flac on win7?

I use mainly Winamp for audio and VLC for video.

I have music that I've played on my XP machine transferred onto my Win7 Machine, and it won't play on the Win7 machine. To my knowledge Winamp and VLC both should have flac playback.

Kinda curious as to what's going on. :(

You would have to install a codec to use it. There are several free codec packs available that would add support for flac. One is the K Lite codec pack. There is another that one of the Win 7 forum members has that is also reported as working well but I don't remember what that is.
