Same show, same time, different channels, how does Recorder choose?

I live between two major cities so I receive OTA stations from both. If the same show is on the same network on two different channels, how does Media Center choose which station to record on?

I would like to be able to tell MC which channel to record on because one of the stations gets choppy in bad weather. I know I could just disable that channel, but I'd rather not have to do that because they often have different content.

You can specify the recording priority within one of the menus.

Which menu? I looked, but could not find it. Can you give me the path, for example, Settings->TV->Guide->....?

I'm not sure what the difficulty is but you can select the program to record from the Schedule. If the program is on two different stations, chose the channel you want. Right click the program then select Record or Record Series. The recording will be from the selected channel.

I forgot to mention. If you are recording a Series, be sure to set the Series Only Recording Defaults. Change the default for Channels to One Channel Only.



On the start screen, scroll to Tasks, click settings, click TV, click Recorder, and then click Recording Defaults.

1. Scroll down to the Series Only Defaults.
2. Click the - or + buttons to adjust one or all of the settings.
3. Click Save.
