Why? Have you ever seen a dual-os system that wasn't kluddgy? And I'm pretty sure someone already made an Android tablet that connected to a keyboard to become a widows laptop. and it was a pile of crap.

Samsung does try EVERYTHING, but I don't think this will be that great.

Uhm, no. Windows 8 RT (the one working on ARM) is a gigantic pile of poo (mainly because it cannot use programs written for x86 processors, so kinda like EVERYTHING that runs on a PC), and every major OEM is keeping a good distance from it afaik.

So the only way to pull something like that off is porting Android to x86 (which is ironic because it's Linux, and it started on x86 like everything else). And if they use Haswell, that's what they did. If the mountain will not come to Mahomet, Mahomet must go to the mountain, they said.

If memory is still working, only Asus gave a shot at making a crappy and cut-down version of Android as dual-boot in their netbooks.
Hint: it sucked. In no small part because of Atom processors (that sucked).

Here SAMSUNG seems to have diverted some devs and cash towards making a full Android 4.2 port to x86. It's pretty easy for them as some x86 working distros of Android exist here, made by 3 guys doing it in their spare time. Device support of those distros is limited, but hey, SAMSUNG is an OEM, so they know their product well and will add the right kernel components to run on it in no time.
Theoretically some Android apps may not work, but most will.

This is an actually pretty interesting thing, as now there seems to be a good x86 4.2 Android port, so porting that to an actual PC is going to be so much easier.

They also seem to have made a nice shared area to keep pics and videos and stuff both OS can see (a NTFS partition maybe? Android can see them)

So yeah, screw the tablet, I'm pretty interested to see when its Android hits the community and gets reverse-engineered. You could save so much crappy hardware with that.
