Samsung KIES causing repeated notifications

As above, I get lots of (4-5) notifications (flashing blue and yellow shields) at the bottom of the screen which relate to Samsung KIES which is the Samsung equivalent of iTunes. I can't seem to turn off the notifications without turning them off for everything and they appear every time I boot up. Is there a way of allowing them though without it flagging up?

Have you allowed the application in your Anti-virus and firewall?
