A simple rule with laptops is never to buy one with the plan to upgrade it. Aside from the trouble, the cost of trying to perform upgrades on motherboards is usually not as effective as simply buying a new faster laptop. Remember to recycle. Sorry if that is not the answer you were hoping for.

Yeah, you're about as high as you can go with the 478-pin micro socket. There's a few steps but not worth the price to gain less then 500Hz. And you'd still have a 2-core, 2-thread processor.
