Samsung SyncMaster 2243NW resolution problem

Hi! :)
Have you tried setting a custom resolution using PowerStrip? It worked for me.

Yes. I have installed Powerstrip 3.87 with no success. Checking the "hide modes not supported" from Windows' display menu I could select 1680x1050 from powerstrip menu but could not apply it (either predefined or custom) - the screen would flicked barely perceiveble and remain on 1360x1024.

With "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" the resoultion remained 1680x1050, enforced by CCC, Powerstrip saw it also, but games still show maximum 1360x1024.

My fix...

Hello,
I have had the same problem, for the same monitor with Ati Graphic( an older one -x1900xtx).
My solution was to open the ATI Catalyst Control Center, go to Monitor Properties tab, and force the resolution and the maximum refresh rate. This wil not change anyway the real resolution, but once you re-open the Screen Resolution panel from Windows > Advanced settings > List all modes >>> there you have all the resolutions.
First my max resolution was 1600x1200. After I get a 1900x1200 @60 Hertz.
I hope it will be useful also for you

Hey guys!

I made this driver to solve all the problem with our Samsung 2243nw monitors. Tasted it both on Vista, Vista SP2 and just released Windows 7 (release, not beta). It allows to set native resolutions for all ATI and NVidia cards. It replaces EDID info with the registry record to solve problem with wrong EDID info, so everything works just the way it should.

Just install it the way you install original driver and reboot.
Thank you. Just needed to enable to [h=3]install drivers which are not digitally signed[/h]
