Have you tried setting a custom resolution using PowerStrip? It worked for me.
Yes. I have installed Powerstrip 3.87 with no success. Checking the "hide modes not supported" from Windows' display menu I could select 1680x1050 from powerstrip menu but could not apply it (either predefined or custom) - the screen would flicked barely perceiveble and remain on 1360x1024.
With "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" the resoultion remained 1680x1050, enforced by CCC, Powerstrip saw it also, but games still show maximum 1360x1024.
