I just acquired a desktop from a friend. After doing a clean boot of the system and updating drivers I began try some games out. I switched on Crossfire and loaded up a game and I got a black screen and the computer froze. I did a hard restart of the system thinking that it was just a fluke and I even tried a different game; same thing. I've been looking all over for possible solutions, but haven't really found anything concrete.

Desktop Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64
Motherboard: AsRock 970 Extreme3
Graphics Cards: Saphire Radeon r7 250 and Saphire Radeon r7 250
Memory: Team Elite Plus 8GB (2 x 4GB)
Power Supply: Topower 500W

Thanks!

It might just be a software setting, but let me ask a couple of questions first:

1. What CPU are you using?
2. Are you using the latest Radeon drivers?
3. Do you know the exact model of GPU that you have? There are several in Sapphire's R7 250 product line, and it's hard to tell what specs to look at.

I was looking in the Catalyst Control Centre for the Crossfire settings, but the new Radeon Crimson drivers don't show you Crossfire settings unless you have two or more cards, so I'm no help there. Hopefully, a member who uses Crossfire will come along and help out.

Much better since I got fiber, but still way overpriced.

Just so that you don't give up hope, I've posted in the relevant forum for a member more experienced with Crossfire to come and help out. Hopefully someone will join the party soon, and we can figure this out for you. :)

Ok, so here's what I did. I upgraded to Windows 10. Now both of the cards are working together in Crossfire. Don't know exactly why or how, but it is what it is.

All right. It's weird that they wouldn't work properly under Seven, but I'm glad you got it fixed.
