Solved Sapphire R7 240 multimonitor problem

I am using a Dell Optiplex 780. I have added a R7 240 GC to the pc so that I can use multimonitor setup.

My setup are:
1x 19" monitor -VGA (1024x768p)
1x 23" monitor -DVI (1920x1080p)

However, while I can connect both monitors to the card. I get a duplicated display which is annoying. The card does not detect the second monitor. I have tried to install the driver, but halfway through installing I get a BSOD with some messages saying either it is a Plug and Play or Driver problem. I've tried the included driver CD, that failed while installing. Tried AMD's driver, that failed as well. No idea what to do next. Also, in the device manager, the PC does not recognise the GC.

I am using Win7 32-bit Enterprise version

Previous graphic was onboard. When I deleted the VGA card from device manager, I only successfully deleted the "onboard VGA" card which is the R7 (which is not detected properly by windows).

Also tried the auto detect tool by AMD, can't find the card also.

The only thing the auto detect tool can detect is this:
0x1002 0x6613 PCIE

It sees something. I am hooking the monitors to the card right now. So the card is working in a sense. However no monitor detection, and can't detect card or driver.

Hi mystvearn,

Please check if this card match the specification required with your system. And was the PCI slot working fine earlier.

If possible check a different PCI video card on the system and same card on a different system.

Once you connect the PCI video card then integrated should stop working immediately. Also, let us know which blue screen error that you receive on the system and provide details of it.

Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.

It finally worked. After 3 days of thinkering around.

What happen was the given W7 32 bit installation by the IT were faulty. I requested the installation cd's and did it myself. Then the drivers still caused BSOD with driver/card failure every time I try to install new drivers from the internet.

The card is fine since I tested with my pc at home. Went back to office, finish installing all kinds of W7 updates, tried the supplied driver in the cd. It work. So I'm good for now. I'm still waiting for the new batch of computers. Right now the have given me a E5300 with 2 gb ram to which I added another 2 gb ram and the R7 240.
