SAS question.

Here is my log from running SAS which I seem to get the same 28 each day.

or do you see any others that I can remove from the daily cookie group of 28?

I know they are just cookies but getting the same 28 each day when all I do is read my e-mail, check out the Forum news on 7,10, PC Help, and my tablet forum. Real exciting day huh?

I think I get 39 on my laptop so maybe the cookies are better there!

If it was my computer I would run AdwCleaner from Bleeping Computer and see if you can find out where they are coming from.

Dennis what I thinking is something on your system is giving those cookies over and over and over again.
Is their something in msconfig/Start up or NON Microsoft Services that shouldn't be their.

You could also be doing the same things on the same websites that are giving you the same cookies over and over.

Something somewhere is constant. Therefore you are constantly getting the same cookies.
I use SAS a couple or three times a day and it doesn't pickup a cookie for many days and it's normally 1 or 2 tracking cookie.

You system specs don't indicate what security programs you run active.

Only have 2 things running in Startup and as for Non MS Services there are numerous items either running or stopped.
Any ideas what should be stopped? Should I disable all of them and then re-boot to see what happens?

I have a laptop and desktop so disabling all of them on laptop screws up my computer I still have a back up plan with my desktop.

If you used Internet explorer all you would have to do is add that website to your restricted sites zone and be done with it

I just have a couple of suggestions. Change your browser's cookie handling to accept cookies from "only the sites I visit" and reject "third party cookies"

Clear cache using Cccleaner or similar.

Try running DNSEye then fire up your browser and browse your usual sites until you see casalmedia appear in the list. If it doesn't appear but SAS still shows a casalmedia cookie then try running CrowdInspect:

Had the same problem when I clicked on the cookie icon...NOTHING!

It works for me too. The instructions state that it only works with IE and not other browsers. I rarely use IE!

If you're using IE and a box shows up on a web page with a 'cookie' in it, you have the choice to keep it, delete it or temporarily keep it.

CookieWall is very simple to use - just run the program, which resides on your system tray (on the lower right of your screen), and it will track all the cookies that come into your system. Then, periodically just go into the 'Add/Delete' menu, browse through the new cookies in your system, and select which ones should go as well as which ones can stay - it's that simple! Once you've tagged a particular cookie as unwelcomed on your system, CookieWall takes care of the rest and deletes it quickly and quietly. If you would rather be notified each time a new cookie intrudes on your system, you can also enable a pop up notification window which contains the name of the offending site, the cookie name and it's contents as well; from here you can choose to delete it, keep it, or add it to the new list for categorization later

Right click on the cookie icon to get to add/remove, configure and browse, etc.


You need to look at the screen shots... it will show you how to turn it on and have it running in the background.

My Startup and NON Microsoft Services.

You must keep a watch on Startup and Services because when you do updates sometimes your updates will add things.

Every now and again look in Microsoft Services and see if a Non Microsoft services slipped in.

Please note; all my updates of everything are done manually.
I do not use auto update of anything. I want to know what goes in my computers and when it's done.

Yep Jack you get all of those Unknowns I believe when you update and forget to reactivate the updater before hand :/

You can really cut down on those by selecting Not to install a startup folder during installation
