Sata Hard drive

hi all
I have a sata hardrive (160gb) on an older pc and when i plug it in ,
just before it loads windows it stays at a black screen
this hardrive never had problems on an other motherboard

Are you trying to boot from the OS previously installed on the other PC?

If you have an external drive already connected when you first start, the PC may be trying to boot from it.

Try booting WITHOUT the drive connected (presuming you're connecting it via USB) and THEN plug it in. It should then popup a window asking you what you want to do with the drive.
