Is there any official site for reporting scams in the UK? I have just had experience in the past few days of a guy in a car park trying to sell me 'sample leather jackets' that he 'Didn't want to take back to Italy' And a guy wanting me to send a Western Union receipt before he would show me a short term property rental in the North East. I feel sorry for anyone taken in by these crooks, but there seems nothing to stop them just trying it on someone else until they are successful.

Hi New. Funnily enough I had a very similar experience about 5 years ago in Knutsford Motorway Services car park. Two dark skinned guys in a big beemer called me over to their car and told me, in thick Italian accents, that they had just been to a Trade Fair in Birmingham showing Italian designer leather coats and jackets (Armani and Gucci). They had a pile of them on the back seat and invited me to look. I did and they wanted a hundred pounds for a full length leather Armani coat. It certainly looked and felt kike the real thing and they were waving Armani certification under my nose.
However it didn't smell right, literally I mean.
Just at that moment I spotted my then nearest and dearest coming back across the car park having used the Service facilities.
I said to hold on whilst I discussed the purchase with my wife. She was quite dark skinned so I said that she was Italian and loved Gucci stuff.
There accents changed to Liverpudlian and they drove off very quickly indeed.
We had a good laugh about it but it must be quite a common scam.
