Hello,

This should do it for today.

Have this problem with my new HP PC of Windows Explorer Stopping and starting periodically.

Have been looking into everything I, and others here, can think of, but no real luck yet finding the problem.

Thought that perhaps it is related to things happening "automatically," so I took a look in the Task Scheduler.

Can't believe all the things in the Task Scheduler Library.
(nothing in the sub-folders of Event Viewer Log, HP, Microsoft, or WPD)

Anyway, if anyone can tell me about any of the following, and if I need them scheduled or not, would be appreciative:

a. CLMLSvc
Runs at Log in of any user
Author is Cyberlink

b. DVD Agent
Runs at log in of any user
Author is Cyberlink

c. Extended Service Plan
Weird one; no author or any other info.
From HP, perhaps ?

d.HPCeeSchedule for Bob
I'm Bob

e. Microsoft_Hardware_Launch_IPoint
No other info.

f. PCDRS Schedujled Maintenance
Author: PCDoctor (who are they ?)

I know it automatically checks for any new available downloads.
Shouldn't that be listed here also ?

BTW: What is that sub-folder "WPD" ?)

Much thanks,
Bob

Seven is not like Vista; it is lean and mean. Making the changes that you suggest probably would not make much of a difference. Start with your Anti Virus, the cause of problems for many. Deactivate your A/V and firewall. If your computer becomes more efficient, download MS, MSE (Misrosoft Security Essentials) A/V and Firewall made only for windows users, with Windows in mind.

Incidentally, when first installed, it has a lot of chores. After used for a while, it becomes more efficient.
