If you are talking about how often you should Image your OS partition it depends on how often you update your OS and programs. The minimum should be monthly to take account of Microsoft's "Patch Tuesday" but more often if you are continually adding programs. Your data should be backed up much more frequently. Weekly as a minimum but preferably daily.

It is a good idea to remove the image from the scheduled backup and to do that manually so that you can use the scheduling function to run a data backup more frequently to suit your needs.

Because the things I do on the computer are not really important. So if I lose some of the data its okay. Plus I have things backup to the cloud and extremal drives.

It depends on the amount of data you add/change. I have to continuously detect the changes and added files and automatically back it up.

Windows 7 Ultimate x32
Since my computer is switched off at night and I can't guarantee at what time it might be switched on I back up any changes made daily especially if it is particularly important for me rather than use scheduling, which is possible with the SyncBack software that I use.

;)
