trying to figure out what can cause a computer to freeze when it starts off by making a scrambled noise like the sound of a video tape being rewinded or fast fowarded. The video sometimes jumbles before the freeze too, but most of the time, you just get the *rewind* noise and then it freezes. Any suggestions on what this might indicate? Kinda also sounds like an episode of outer limits when they changing frequencies on something to communicate. What could this be related to? In the beginning, it was followed by bsod, but lately, it's been happening more and at shorter intervals with no bsod. mem tests, hard drive tests and stress test check out fine. thanks for any help or suggestions.
