My screen is now blinking once before welcome screen and once it loads the desktop :sarc:, it returns to normal after a blink. I have installed a old 7600 gt that I had(This blinks started after that, my integrated card was 6150se). Installed the latest driver. My monitor is Philips 105e.

What's the problem here?

Do you get a normal working desktop?

My guess is this is the BIOS looking for where your video card is located. Go into the BIOS and set it to look for your card in the PCI slot (normally PEG)

You might not have the option, but you probably do. It might be two options like "ING/PEG" or "PEG/ING/PCI" or something like that.

Good luck, hope this helps.

Once it logs into windows after blink it's normal, except when I bring up nvidia control panel it blinks once. Tried looking in BIOS, all seemed ok (PCIE>PCI... in that order), is there any specific area I should look at BIOS. Can this be a driver issue? I've heard that new drivers causes blinks sometimes with older monitors.

I don't think this is anything to worry about or troubleshoot.

Torrentg is correct. It should not cause any problems, if it's set for PCIE first, it's probably just the way the motherboard works. It should be fine.

Thanks folks, it was a little strange that's all. If this stays just two blinks, not more than that i will not worry my head over it anymore :D

I have the same situation. Dell Inspiron 1720, Windows 7 Professional. I was concerned it was a hijacker automatically connecting when the computer was booted. Is this possible or is it just paranoia? (There's recently been an identity theft in my family and I'm a bit sensitive.)
