Hi, I'm new here so don't know whether this is the right section to post but I've been experiencing problems with Windows lately that I can't seem to solve...
Almost every time I click (Open windows, maximizing windows etc, etc...) The whole screen will blink and I will see a brief (Not Responding) which only lasts for a split second, then I can resume my work, in the worst of cases this can happen 9 or 10 times until the computer actually responds and selects what I want it to.
I have recently upgraded my graphics from a ATI Radeon X1200 (Old and useless) To a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 SE/7200 GS. ALL of my drivers are up-to-date and a system restore is not an option.

Hope you can help as this is getting extremely frustrating and is not something I can live with.

Thanks in advance.

Try removing your video drivers, then running Driver Cleaner to pull out any missing pieces.

I know some people scoff at the suggestion of using CCleaner, but it has solved several issues like this for me by removing old ATI entries that were left behind. After that, install the latest Nvidia drivers and see how it goes.

Is Aero running as well?

Thanks for the quick reply, I will give your suggestion a go and yes Aero is running but even when I disabled all of the Aero interface in Performance Options (Visual Effects) the blinking still occurs. I have been baffled by this for over a month now.

UPDATE: Tried what you said step-by-step and still no luck...

Try uninstalling your video drivers then uninstall your graphics adapter in Device Manager. Reboot and re-install your most up-to-date graphics driver.

You might want to use Revo to uninstall the drivers and tell it to do a deep scan of the system registry for any leftovers from previous installations.

OK, just to make everyone sure, its nothing to do with the graphics... I've been searching and searching for a solution and still no luck (Graphics related) I've even replaced the graphics card thinking it was my old one causing the problem, And I've tried your suggestion seavixen32 and it still blinks  Thanks for the help, starting there is no fix what so ever...

Did this just start recently? What happened before it started? New software/hardware installed?

Try system restore to before it started?

Try these:

Reducing Refresh Rate
Reseating Video Card slot/swapping to another slot
Try another Monitor
