Screen Dimming Software?

Hello, I am looking for software that will allow me to dim my desktop monitor around a video playing through Windows Media Player 12.

That wasn't what I was asking for but thank you for your reply. Does anyone know of any software that will actually dim the brightness of the monitor around my playing video?

Samsung has somthing that will do what you are asking.
What are your stsem specs?

i use a little--easily portable--piece of program called dimscreen. like how can change by easy click tray menu.
doesn't seem to work on submenus though D=

Hi there

Not quite sure what the OP is asking for.
However if you just want to ADJUST the video while playing say a movie standard software like VLC has a Video effects section -- here you can adjust such things like Sharpness, Gamma, Brightness, Contrast, and even things like Hue and Saturation.

VLC as a player has almost anything you need. The problem usually is you have to find it !!!.
