Screen issue

I bought Windows 7 Professional yesterday and I thought that this issue would resolve itself after I installed the OS but it hasn't.

The issue is: The screen doesn't fit the monitor. I can't see the sides.

I don't know how this happened. How do I fix it?

On your monitor there should be an auto adjust button.

If not, you might have to click the menu button on the monitor and adjust the horizontal and vertical values

I should have also mentioned that the sides (left + right) curve inwards. It's really annoying.

Then that sounds like the trapezium setting!

It didn't work. If anything, I might have screwed things up a little more.

Help. There's got to be an easier way!

Main thing is don't panic. As you haven't completed your specs we don't know if you even have a desktop or a laptop. Give us some more detail especially if you have a desktop the make model and size of your monitor. Have you adjusted the resolution lately if so what is it now ? Tell us exactly what you did and what do you mean by "Screwed it up even more"?
