- What is the age of system (hardware)? The graphics card is brand new, so is the RAM, the motherboard is 2 years, one of my hard drives is brand new while the other is extremely old (5-6 years), back when nvidia 6600's were popular
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) The OS is brand new.

One note; I'm using a wmp54g network adapter in my pc, I had to install some unofficial drivers to avoid packet loss. The fix works, but is potentally the cause of the problem.

Both blamed on tcpip.sys. No iformation about the wmp54g drivers. I suggest you run driver verifier to find out


Memory corruption probably caused by a driver. please run these two tests



Driver verifier

I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Maybe it is only a coincidence but when I run the Verifier, I am unable to connect to the internet using a router. It finds a network, but the connection to the network itself is sluggish and it is unable to connect to the internet entirely.

As I suspect this may be the cause, should I use a different driver modifier?

Driver verifier should not cause you to loose connectivity. If it is there is something else wrong with the computer

Can you run a system file check to verify your OS files?

What I have done in order to fix my previous tcpip.sys issue.

I have uninstalled the drivers, which are incompatible with Windows 7, much less 64 bit, as the device itself, Linksys wmp54g, is quite old. I have also purchased a Cisco (Linksys) WUSBN600N USB network adapter, with which I am happy with so far, but now a different bsod arised.

It was morning, at the time I was installing Starcraft II on my system, after leaving it on for the entire duration of the night and in the middle of the process, the pc bsod.

I have also verified the files afterwards and it apparently found some errors which it promptly repaired. The .dmp and the CBS.log files are in the RAR.

If needed, I will try the driver verifier now, hoping that the previous problem of losing internet connectivity will not persist.

ADDENDUM:

The driver verifier is operating with full access to internet. I will commence using the computer, although the .sys seems to originate from windows.

I just had another blue screen, I have accidently deleted the .dmp file :/, but I have still managed to scavenge some information. I was playing a game at the time:

Windows diagnostics has two problems. First it works within windows so you cant tell if the problem is ram or windows. Second it doesnt stress the ram enough.. Run memtest

The info you captured doesnt help without the DMP
