I have read in previous post that a lot of people have had a similar problem, however there solution did not work for my own problem.

Problem- I have Sony Vizio, display name of E320VP, 1920x1080. When I right click and go to screen resolution it will not let me go pass 1366X768. I have tried using amd vision and clicking on use EDI and it helps and shows 1920x1080. However under screen resolution when I right click on my desktop it still will not let me change and only shows 1366X768.

Also while running games, 1920x1080 is not an option for me to select under screen resolution.

How can I fix and or solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you have the laptop set to clone mode, try and go to resolution and change multiple displays to extend or turn off the laptop display altogether, the reason you're stuck at 1366x768 is because your laptop screen is the primary screen so that's the highest your resolution can be while that screen is active.

Thanks for replying. So I right clicked went to screen resolution and E320vp which is the name of my monitor I'm trying to set, I selected make this my main display and nothing really change still can't select the right resolution. Under multiple displays the choices I have are...

Duplicate these displays
Extend these displays
Show desktop only on 1
Show desktop only on 2

Under Resolution the highest I can go is 1366x768

Hi, B3astiie, can you try and click on extend these displays, then set your tv as primary, you'll then be able to change resolution for the TV to whatever you want.

I have tried what you suggested above and it seems as if my computer is now confused as to which is which. What I mean by confused is my Vizio is showing as main display but still under 1366x768.

I have teamviewer if you would like to take a crack at it.

Are you using a D-Sub Port to connect your laptop to your TV? D-Sub can only max the resolution on TV up to 1366X768 only.

So I discovered that if I uninstall ATI 4200 display driver I can move my display up to 1440x1050 which is still way below my capabilities. However the moment the display driver reinstalls automatically the display jumps back down to 1330x768.

Any clue as to whats going on?
