I would say the video card is set to analog. Have you opened the ATI Control Panel and checked the preference settings?

Where exactly did you see that, on the windows 7 Screen Resolution page or in your monitors setup menus?
Did you go DVI to DVI, or did you use maybe us a DVI to VGA adapter?

My guess was that he is right clicking on the desktop and selecting "Screen Resolution". The top line shows the monitor model and connection type.

I was just wondering if it was in the "Display" or "Resolution" section on that screen. My I-Inc LCDs have a VGA and DVI input. One monitor is connected to the VGA on my GT220, and the other one is connected to the DVI output. All I see is 1.AG191 and 2.AG191 for Display and 1280 x 1024 (recommended) for Resolution. There is no mention of analog or digital there for either display. I have to actually look at the back of the monitor to tell which one is DVI (digital) and which on is using VGA (analog). The DVI connectors on my monitors are DVI-D, digital only, so there is no way to send an analog signal into the DVI port. My guess is windows 7 is just reading the monitor ID data stored in the monitor and displaying it in the "Display" section. I don't think it means that the monitor is actually using an analog signal, just that it can.

If I recall correctly, that is your monitor, not the connection type, that is analog.

I could be wrong, however.

You need to open ATI or Catalyst Control Center or CCC- not resolution.

Right click desk top and find this:

This is the control panel you need not the Windows version.

Hello!

I have ATI :) CCC doesn't come with the standard Windows drivers. You only have it if you update the drivers from the ATI website. Since you can't see it, and you would have seen it if you have it, you need to update your drivers from here: Graphics Drivers & Software

Wait for the videos at the bottom of the page to load. It shows you how to find out which graphics card you have, if you don't already know.

Good luck!

Richard

I posted for some more help.

I have Nvidia which is useless to help with ATI. I went to ATI and didn't find anything for set up instructions.

The screen shot you posted above I noticed a -? -on the right towards top. Click on it and see if it opens the set up instructions.
If it is look to see if you can find something like 'Change signal to monitor" .
Something of that sort.
There should be a setting to change to digital output to monitor.

Mike

Also worth a try until better ideas are posted. Open the below page again
The Display Curtain where it says Analog make it drop and see if there is also a Digital listed. Select Digital if there is one and click apply.
If not then. Click the Detect and see if it will identify the digital signal. Even try Identify.
It won't hurt but might pick up the new settings of the graphics card and Digital signal and cable.

I don't think you will find a setting to switch DVI from analog to digital. Your video card supplies both an analog and a digital signal to the DVI-I connector. DVI-I is analog and digital. The way I understand it, if you want to use the analog signal you connect a DVI to VGA adapter. If you want to use the digital signal you use a DVI-D cable. If you remove your DVI cable and look at the connectors I think you will find that it is missing the analog pins. Also if you look at the monitor the DVI connector will most likely be a DVI-D, digital only connector, again the analog pins will be missing. The wires that would go there are connected to the VGA in jack. H223HQ (Analog) is probably just a result of the ID string stored on the monitor.
