Solved Screen resolution

When I use Windows Live Messenger on Windoows 7 it changes the screen resolution to Windows Basic (640x480) I am told that a running program has compatibility problems. I can use screen resolution process to change it back to 1024x768 and it works but it is a hassle. I do not know how to find out what program is causing this change.

edit: I found a few other hits with no solutions other than right click on
C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger and see if there's any setting in the Compatibility tab. There wasn't any so it didn't continue with what to do if there was.

You could try right clicking the WL messenger .exe file and see if the box is checked.

I am hoping that your two suggestions worked: I went to Program Files (86) and the the .exe file and ok'ed "trouble shooting". For now it seemed to find the problem and correct it. If this holds through tomorrow, I owe both of you a stein of Guinness at Four Green Fields in Tampa!

Well, the suggestions worked once but the problem returned when I next went to the MSN Messenger site. So I deleted all Live Mail stuff and will manage without it until a real fix arrives.
