Screen size on opening

Can anyone please tell me why every time I open a web site, I always get a half size screen rather than a full one, see screen shot for example.

When I see that happen I will resize it as I want then hold down the Ctrl key while clicking Close or the X. Sometimes takes a couple of tries to get Windows to 'learn' it.

So how do you resize the screen please??

That's basic Windows functions, move the mouse pointer to any edge or corner of the window and when the pointer changes to an arrow just click and drag as desired. Or click the Maximize icon [middle] in the upper right corner to get it full size [not the same as Full Screen].
And do yourself a favor and get a Windows 7 for Dummies book, quite good reading in spite of the title.

I personally would stay away from the Maximize button and simply resize and position the window and close it normally,
Re-open and windows will remember the size,

I have been looking through Windows 7 for dummies and I cannot find the instructions you gave me? In which chapter and on what page are they please??

Despite advice from members, which I have taken and used, I am still getting only a three quarter sized screen when I open a web site such as Google, see screen shot.

Can anyone throw any more light on the problem please??

Hi,
That tends to happen using the Maximized button on the top right,
It's not a great way to resize a window,
