Scrolling in text type-in window in Forums

Hope this hasent already been addressed somewhere, but I could not find it:

When in a forum and making a new post, everything is fine when typing text in the text window until I reach the bottom of the text window. At that point, any additional lines of text will not show other than a brief blink as I type text. For instance - if the window will hold 10 lines of text, lines 11 on down simply do not appear in the window when I stop typing. The additional line appears breiefly as each character is typed, then disappears. Yes, I can scroll down and see what I have typed and the text stays that way until I hit another character, then snaps back up to show only the first 10 lines of text.
Only cure I can find is to do my post in notepad then copy/paste to the forum's text window.

Very annoying and should not act that way.

OS is Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium
Have tried both IExplorer 64 bit and IExplorer 32 bit

Thought I would address this question now that I have found the answer.........

If you are ever faced with this phenomenon, go to the top menu of IE8 and click Page. Now from the drop-down, select Compatibility View.
The problem will now go away. This is an issue in IE8 and not with W-7.
By the way, Microsoft has compiled a list of sites to be viewed in Compatibility View and IE8 automatically switches to that view when you enter the site. You can tell if you are viewing one of these sites by clicking Page. The Compatibiliyy View will be greyed out.
