Search through USB storage device without knowing the partition letter

The title might be a bit weird, but i wasn't sure how to phrase it. I'll try and describe our problem:

Basically what we want to do is to use the windows 7 search function, without knowing what letter our USB device has been given (i.e. D:, F: etc). Say I've named my storage device "Hello", now i'd like to search for "Hello" and the content should be popping up (like when i write D: and i see all the content in D: without going there manually). Is this possible, or are we simply wasting our time?

I'm using the search function in windows, when you press the windows button and the start menu pop's up, there's a field that says "Search programs and files". That's where I'm curious whether it's possible to search through the storage device without knowing the actual partition letter, or is that the only way to see the content?

If my description is confusing I could add a few screenshots tomorrow explaining it a bit better. It's kind of a major part of my thesis, so I'm crossing my fingers there's a solution.

Sorry late reply Brusham been sick - Mate I can type anything in my search box fro docs to pics and even desktop folders / snipped pictures and they load in an instant. The only things I cannot load are drives as such.

If I type in Computer it does list all the drives from the two options I get. For what you would like to do I think that is the only probable option. I tried this by renaming an old drive and it just pops up with the rest of the drives, Now if that Hello is a folder within C: drive somewhere you would have to
dig down to it.

Something like type computer and then click on the drive and open that out to the folder/s you you want. There does not look like a straight forward way of doing it from Windows.

Having said that I think there is an app called Folder Finder but it just searches for empty folders but worth a try it might just list the folder you want Folder finder Free Download or the one below it might work
