Hi everyone,

I write here since i did not succeeded to find a solution in any forum i read.

the problem is as followed:

I have a Lenovo G510 laptop. when i bought to it, i replaced the original HDD (wd5000LPCX-2) with a new SSD (samsung 840) and replaced the optical drive with the original HDD, so it'll preform as a second HD. now, everything work fine as long as i turn on the computer while it is plug to the AC. but if i turn on the computer while it is not plug, the second drive (the HDD) do not appear, not even under the "computer management". i have tried everything- to change all the power plans in order to avoid the HD to go to sleep, to install program which keeps it awake buy saving file on it, but all without success.

if there are anyone who might know how to solve it i'll be thankful!

Welcome onboard.

A very strange problem indeed. I am now shooting in the dark hoping it will hit the target somehow.:)

Try this: Put the optical drive back into the machine after carefully removing the secondary HDD.

Does your optical drive function normally with battery power and AC? ( I am assuming it will not.)

If not follow the recommendations here to set it right. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/314060

BTW, did you try Reimage as suggested in another forum and with what results?

EDIT: For those who are wondering what is Reimage ( I am also hearing about it the first time)
