Second Screen Not Working Though Adaptor

Hey,

I am trying to set up a second screen on my pc but as its VGA only I have had to use an adaptor to get it connected. It shows up as a display but nothing comes on screen the power light just flash's on and off. I think its down to HDCP as the nvidia control panel says it does not support it.

Can anyone help me out?

The screen is a Samsung B1930 . I connected it directly to my laptop and it works fine.

its software that monitors the monitors with different settings etc
