Review this thread: Web of Trust (WOT) Add-on taken down by Chrome & Firefox

Plus if WOT still works for you and you have no privacy concerns then it's your call. Personally I didn't have WOT on my machine at home but on my work machine the WOT extension was automatically removed once it had been withdrawn.

Well ....... they SAY they are going to "do better" from now on. Leave it to you how much you trust that statement. Personally I think the brou-ha-ha may be a little overblown. If you use Google you probably (assuredly) give up all that data if not more. PERSONALLY, I've always thought WOT and the others like it give a false sense of security. I had it on one of my machines for about 3 days once, useless to me. Remember that it uses user recommendations for its trust level and except for a few old and trusted sites I wouldn't trust most users input anymore than I would Jack the Rippers. I have a decent software bulwark against malware/viruses and use (fairly) safe web practices and have only had a very few infestations. Those were due to my own fault entirely. If you're an average user/surfer and stick to fairly legit sites you probably don't need it.

wot site checker

Thank you everyone, I decided to uninstall wot. I also uninstalled firefox, as it seems to have become
very slow. IE11 still works the quickest for me, and the most efficient. :D I am also a bit of a privacy and security freak. I enabled trend micro toolbar again, and it does not seem to be slowing down IE11
like it did before.
